Night of Stars X Start

This is a shot as the dogs leave the boxes. Tommy is in the rear (yellow 6). He takes to the outside and passes most of the dogs in the first turn and then in the back stretch he is in 2nd place. He pours it on in the final turn and the stretch run to overtake the leader (number 8) at the wire.

Night of Stars X Presentation

Tommy at the Night of Stars presentation. The Night of Stars is a race where all tracks run their best dogs on the same night. The winner represents the best of the best at that track. Tommy's trainer was John Sappington.

This is Tommy's photo finish when he won the Night of Stars race at Dairyland Greyhound Park.

Glow relaxes

Glow is resting on one of the beds on the patio. She is so calm and relaxed. She barely moves her eyes to watch me take the picture.

This is a closeup of Tommy. He really looks a lot like Glow when you look at him closeup.

The gang relaxes

The whole gang relaxes after some play in the yard just before sundown.

Tommy stretches

Tommy stretches and yawns. It makes him look like a wild dog. He is as sweet as can be though.

Stephany looks up at Kathy while holding "baby". She looks so sweet, I couldn't resist snapping the picture.

Tommy's new digs

Tommy is enjoying his new digs. He sleeps very sound. When he is in the house and we cannot supervise him, he is in his "condo". He doesn't mind it at all and walks right into it after exercise in the yard with the other dogs.

This is an interesting chart on display at the Greyhound Hall of Fame. It compares human and greyhound anatomy.

On the patio

Kathy with Tommy and Glow on the patio. Glow did not react any different than she would for any other greyhound. We'll see if they play together like she does with Bullet.

Our gang

This is the whole gang. I took them all for their first walk together and they did very well. Tommy is a very good walker.

First meeting

Glow and Stephanie meet Tommy for the first time. Tommy is in a crate until he adjusts to our home. We did let them meet each other outside with their muzzles on. After they got used to one another we let them all run together in the yard without muzzles. Everything went just fine.

This is a shot of his other side to show his coloring. His coloring is more like his sister Zoe. Tommy's right ear tattoo is 40G. Glow is 40A, so they are the first and last tattooed in the litter.

Tommy gets a bath first thing and then shakes off and gets me all wet.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. They have a very interesting room with a picture window in the shower. :-)

The ride home

This is Tommy Romano. He didn't sleep much on the ten hour drive home, but he made up for it when we got home.

This is an expecting mom. The building for the puppies and brood dogs is air conditioned and very comfortable for them.

These are some brindle pups in one of the puppy runs. They all looked alike.

Kathy and I get to hold some new puppies. This is one from a litter of twelve.

Steve and Sharon Nelson

We picked up Tommy yesterday and this is a picture of Steve and Sharon at Santa Fe kennel with Tommy. Sharon gave us a tour of the farm. We loved seeing all of the dogs, especially the puppies.

This pup was just watching me from the other run looking as cute as can be.

The pups followed Kathy to the other end of the run and then raced back when they saw me.

The puppies and the dogs would come up to the fence and climb over each other to get a pet. They are so cute, we could have watched them for hours.
