Morgan and the hounds

This photo is becoming and annual thing. This is the third year in a row that we have had morgan with all of the hounds in an Independence Day photo.

Independence Day Weekend

I am taking the hounds out for their walk all dressed up for the Independence Day weekend.

Morgan is here!

Our granddaughter, Morgan, came for a visit. Bliss and Morgan have a little tug-o-war. Bliss always wins. She won't let go for anything.

Bliss takes an interest in the mulch pile

Bliss has started turning over the mulch like Glow does. They are my little helpers. I throw the mulch back into the hole and they did it out and turn it over.

Tommy the roacher

What can I say? Tommy is the champion roacher out of the whole pack.

New Toys

The hounds all investigate some new toys. They all are happy and doing well.

Glow and the mulch pile

Glow started taking and interest in the mulch pile. She likes to dig in it and then make a nice nest to lay down

Stephanie has foot problems

Stephanie stopped using her right rear leg. We took her to the Vet for her bi-annual teeth cleaning and while she was there, they removed her outer toe on that foot because it has digging into the adjacent toe. Glow shows some interest in her when she got home from the Vet.

Glow and Stephanie share some time together

Our two big girls have had a tough year so far and this moment seems to capture how they are feeling. Glow always seems to have a very tender feeling toward Stephanie when she is having problems. They have been friends for a long time. This day was bed washing day and the hounds all started laying on the beds while the covers were being washed.

Glow is back to playing

Glow is feeling well enough to race and play with Bliss and Bullet.

Glow and Stephanie are getting better

Both Glow and Stephanie are doing well now. Itook a couple of weeks for Glow to get back to normal, but now there is no evidence of any past problems. Stephanie seems to be improving also.

Tommy finds an odd place to nap

We started a complete renovation of the interior of our home. Tommy found the painter's plastic drop cloth a nice place to nap.

Glow isn't eating very well

We had to hand feed Glow to get any food into her. Even the most favourite foods didn't get her appetite up.

Kathy hand feeds Glow. We were quite concerned that Glow may have got some brain damage from her experience, but she got better.

Glow gets sick

This has been an awful start for the New Year. First I get sick, then Stephanie and now Glow. I woke up hearing Glow walking in circles and barely able to stand up. When I held her, she was shaking like she might be having a seizure and patting very hard. We rushed her to the Vet. After they checked her, they said she had Vestibular Disease. This causes disorientation and usually takes care of itself. Unfortunately, Glow is frightened of being in the Vet clinic and she worked herself up so much that we had to take her home.

Bliss and Bullet are racing as usual

Bliss and Bullet are in good health. They enjoy playing with each other and racing in the back yard. The snow and cold don't seem to slow them down. It seems to give them more energy.

Stephanie feels better

After seeing the Vet, Stephanie feels better. At this point she has about 16% kidney function. She was so sick that she could not control her urine.

Stephanie and I had a bad start to the New Year

I haven't been very good at keeping up my blog this year, so I am going back and adding photos. I started the year by spending a week in the hospital with headaches and fever, then Stephanie got sick. This photo shows how she wasn't her normal self.

Glow and Bliss Face Off

Glow and Bliss face off to start chasing and playing. Lindy observes for now, but does get into the chase.
